Sapporo is Japan's fifth largest city. It's famed for the Sapporo Snow Festival and its eponymous beer. Sapporo is something of a winter city. The snow festival attracts around 2 million people each year. Sapporo is great for skiing, there's hot springs to explore and the ramen is quite legendary.
You'll find a small gay scene in Sapporo centred around several venues, including gay bars and gay cruise clubs. The snow begins to fall in Sapporo in November.
