Midsumma features performing arts, visual arts, dance parties, film, spoken word, sport and other cultural events for everyone.
Since 1988, Midsumma Festival has been Melbourne’s biggest LGBT+ festival. Due to COVID-19, the 2021 festival will run from 19 April to 5 May. The Pride March takes place on Sunday 23 May. The festival is normally held over 22 days in January and early February. It usually opens with a carnival in CBD park with over 100,000 people. The annual Pride March follows later in the festival.
