Chamonix Hotels
Chamonix is home to many excellent chalets and hotels. It's long been popular with tourists from the UK, many of whom came over to conquer Mont Blanc in the Victorian period. If you're a fan of extreme sport you'll do very well in Chamonix. You won't really find a gay scene in Chamonix - too many mountains - but it's very welcoming to gay tourists.
