The Surrey

By 2010, The Surrey became the only Relais & Chateaux hotel in NYC and underwent a dramatic makeover. Previously an aparment-style hotel, it was updated in order to compete with its neighbours. It's located in a residential area, so the location is ideal if you want an oasis away from the swarms of tourists. It's a short walk to The Lexington subway.

The rooms are contemporary and come with a small sitting area. The colour scheme is black and white. Beds feature Dux mattresses and have 500-thread-count cotton sheets. A peaceful night's sleep is guaranteed.

Guests of The Surrey can dine on-site at the hotel's Cafe Boulud, serving French cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cocktails are available in Bar Pleiades.
