Balans 自 1987 年起便紮根於老康普頓街，至今仍是蘇豪區歷史最悠久的 LGBTQ+ 聚集地之一。位於 60 號的店面更是重頭戲：這家熱鬧非凡的餐廳從清晨的早餐開始營業，一直持續到深夜，從早晨的班尼迪克蛋到專為蘇豪區夜貓子準備的“色情明星馬提尼”，應有盡有。
菜單以現代英式菜餚為主，融合國際風味，從經典早午餐和著名的巴蘭斯漢堡到牛排、蟹肉意麵以及豐富的雞尾酒單，應有盡有。餐廳裡幾乎總是熙熙攘攘，而位於老康普頓街的露天座位則是欣賞蘇豪區生活百態的最佳地點之一。
Balans 並非想成為一家鮮為人知的餐廳。它是 Soho 區的一家老字號，而且名副其實。

Nice, but pricy
Had dinner on Monday night, 15th June. This is a busy, stylish and very gay eatery right in the heart of gay Soho. A bit of an experience. The service and food was fast and reasonably good. The scallops, calamari were good. The "potstickers" starter (£7.50) turned out to the be 4 bits of gyoza! The balan burger was nice enough, but not particularly special. Left feeling we had a good time, but were definitely paying a bit of a "gay premium".
