The Cuckoo's Nest

Went here in the summer of 2022. Nice staff, clean place. Bar on ground floor was mostly empty, lots of variety downstairs. The maze was quite fun and there are private rooms. It got busier the later in the night it became. Went on a random weekday. Met a nice local who lived close by. Should have exchanged info like he requested.

Après être passé au Dirty Dicks, me voici au Cuckoo's Nest. Du monde en ce vendredi soir, au bar et à la cave. Mais aucune action... Des gens adossés à des portes de cabines pouilleuses qui attendent je ne sais quoi, la moitié de la cave est pour les fumeurs, ça pue partout. Le sol, comme les rues du centre d'Amsterdam d'ailleurs, sont jonchés de détritus et on patauge dans la bière renversée. J'ai fait beaucoup d'endroits comme ça en Europe, c'est le pire que j'aie jamais vu...

Visited at 14:00 hours which was 1 hour right after it opened and there were many guys has arrived, was shocked being a first timer to such cruising place in Europe and the visit was worth it. Purchase only any kind of drinks by the Bar and you are in, most affordable place to have fun in the heart of A'dam. Was there during the renovation closure of the neighboring Sauna NZ and now the sauna is open so have no idea if this bar will be packed.

My first time getting laid in Europe was here. Varied crowd. It was nice to see more than twinks (which is not my thing). The play area is a bit seedy and overly dark, but I know a lot of guys like that. Met some nice people there though... really enjoyed experiencing uncircumcised guys (not common in USA). Friendly staff, reasonably priced drinks. They let you keep your bag with you, or you can pay several euros to have them keep it in the coatroom. I highly recommend. Peak times vary. For some reason, it's common in Europe for busy-time to be late afternoons instead of late night.

Good place. Actions all time. Old and young people who know why they are here. For the price of one beer (3 euros) you can have a good time.

Great bar and darkroom. I've been coming here on and off for 15 years. Crowd is pretty varied but tends to older (30+) and its not for the sequinned crowd! I hope it survives the Grindr generation coz it has a really horny dive bat atmosphere and the guys are here to play not chatter...
