It's impossible to rate the massage for reason that will soon become obvious so I'll just describe what happened. A guy wearing a Best Massage shirt walked past me the previous day when I was about to enter the main SuperRich on Silom, makes eye contact and smiles. After exchanging currency, I go to the nearby shop, find the guy and ask his name. He tells me and I tell him I'll return. Today shortly after 3p.m. I go to the shop and ask for the guy by name. The guy at reception sends someone to fetch him and after a wait my would-be masseur appears. He looks like he just woke up and since this is Thailand I assume that's just what happened. But business is business and he takes me to a second floor room with instruction to "take shower." After toweling off and waiting about 10 more minutes there's no sign of the guy. I dress and as I head down the hall to the stairs I hear snoring coming from another room. Sure enough I had found my man. I apprise the guy at reception of the situation. He says "very sorry." I say "thanks for shower" and leave.

Nice enough massage guy, but massage was way below average (not sure he had any training). I paid for an hour and got 45 minutes. Complained. Manager said I could sit down for a neck massage to make up for it. Nope. I would suggest you spend your money elsewhere.

Sorry for the delay in review... I was in Bangkok in November, and went in search of Arena Massage, where I found the guys outside overly aggressive. I returned to the ground floor of the building (Arena is on 3rd floor), and noticed "The Best" tucked away in a corner of the building plaza. The few masseurs outside were solicitous but not aggressive, so decided to venture inside. The price-list is very competitive (for Bangkok), and I opted for a 90-minute combination Thai + Aromaoil massage. I asked for medium-pressure, and that is what I got. An excellent massage all-round. Afterwards, I was given a cup of (strong) ginger tea... very good. This place is just 10 minutes walk from the cluster of massage-places around central Silom, but worth looking for. Not easy to spot from the road, but in the plaza of Silom Complex Building. I will be in Bangkok again next month, and definitely will make "The Best" one of my first stops.
