"My name is Benny Chen and I am based in Taitung, Taiwan. I have 3 years' experience of being a local tour guide covering Taipei, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Taitung, Taroko National Park, and Green Island. I'm also very familiar with the LGBT community and culture in Taiwan. I used to live in Australia and have travelled to many different countries.

When I travelled, I generally travelled by myself and often wished I'd had a local who could help with my journey. That gave me the idea of becoming a local tour guide and inspired me to launch a new career. I love to make foreign friends from all over the world and help them feel comfortable and safe in my country. I like reading in my spare time, especially about culture and history as it helps me have more knowledge of my own country and that can help me connect my country to the world.

Being safe and professional are the most important qualities for being a local tour guide, and I believe I am both. I have basic first aid skills and am cautious and safety conscious. Observing customers needs and providing helpful service is key to avoiding dangerous situations. I also have many local contacts that can help get better deals and help save on travel expenses. I am always honest and fair to all my foreign friends and always explain the details patiently.
