Though technically part of Powerhouse, Pink Room has its own distinct flavour. Where cover charges apply all night for Powerhouse, it's free entry before 2am most nights. Pink Room stays open just as late.

The music policy covers everything from chart to cheese. Check their Facebook to see which queen will be hosting the night. Entrance is to the rear of Powerhouse, by the coach station. Closed Mondays.

Cabaret club with live drag shows. Boulevard is a popular destination for large groups up for a laugh and operates table service with a smart casual dress policy.

The shows are seasonal, so be sure to check their schedule in advance. Located close to Powerhouse and SR44 if you do need to dance afterwards.

Situated slap-bang in the middle of the Pink Triangle, Rusty's is a fun and friendly cabaret bar with live drag shows and DJ's playing cheesy pop and old school music.

Mixed crowd of locals, students and visitors. Very popular midweek and on Sundays. Drinks are relatively cheap. Check their Facebook page for details about events and parties.

The official pre-bar for Powerhouse. Switch is one of the "go-to" bars of the Pink Triangle, featuring live DJ's nightly.

Popular with students on Mondays but attracts a slightly more sensible crowd at the weekend. Switch hosts frequent one-off events with drag queen. Check Facebook to keep switched on to what's happening.

One of the more stylish bars, just next door to raucous Rusty's. The Blonde Barrel attracts after-work drinkers & concerts goers at the nearby arena and stocks one of the best craft beer selections of the scene.

Big screens show football, and there are drink deals on match days. Their food menu is perfect is great., too. Outside seating overlooks Times Square, but this may be limited in the cold Newcastle winters.

The Yard is the longest-running gay bar in Newcastle and still run by the same owners since the early 80's. The bar remains lively as ever.

Expect entertainment & frolics downstairs in The Yard with regular drag acts. Upstairs is Heaven's Above, where resident DJ's play tunes to get down to. Both bars are open until 2am.
